Omega’s original Railmaster was released in 1957, as part of Omega's new collection of tool watches which originally catered for railway staff, electrical engineers and scientists, as what made it special was the anti-magnetic shielding that protected the movement. The re-release of the Railmaster watches in 2017 comes under the Seamaster collection as it pays homage to the original vintage design combined with improved modern technology, retaining anti-magnetic properties combined with practical water resistance
This 40mm Railmaster’s case is made from stainless steel and perfectly contrasted with the vertically brushed black dial which includes brushed stainless steel hands and recessed hour-markers filled with “vintage” Super-Luminova®. This watch has a two-tone durable grey textile strap.
Driven by Omega’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806, resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss and properties of water resistance to15 bar (150 metres / 500 feet) and power reserve of 55 hours
