With a rich history dating back to 1865, Zenith have created many timepieces that have become iconic in Swiss watchmaking. One of the outstanding achievements was the invention of the first integrated automatic chronograph movement; the Zenith Chronomaster, still the most precise series-made calibre to this day.
The Zenith Chronomaster El Primero has a 42mm black ceramicised aluminium case with a silver toned dial. Present on the dial are three dark grey chronograph sub dials, Small seconds are positioned at 9 o’clock, 30 -minute counter at 3 o’clock and the 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock. A single chronograph hand with a red tip is positioned centrally. The hour and minute hands are coated with SuperLuminova, as are the index hour markers, ensuring the dial can be read in the brightest of lights to the darkest of conditions. A subtle date indication also features at the 6 o'clock position.
A fixed Tachymetric scale surrounds the rim of the dial, this enables the measurement of speed. The genius Tachymetric scale converts the time and distance travelled into an average speed, vital for track timings on racecourses. Finally, the assertive Zentih Chronomaster El Primero is adorned by black perforated rubber strap, for a bold textured finish.
A transparent sapphire crystal case back, reveals the El Primero 400 B Automatic movement, with an impressive 50-hour power reserve.
