With a rich history dating back to 1865, Zenith have created many timepieces that have become iconic in Swiss watchmaking. One of the outstanding achievements was the invention of the first integrated automatic chronograph movement; the Zenith Chronomaster. Still the most precise series-made calibre to this day.
The Zenith Chronomaster El Primero Grande Date Full Open has a 45mm polished and brushed stainless-steel case. The new open dial, reveals the legendary beating heart of the El Primero movement, Silicon escape-wheel and lever. Three sub dials are present on the dial, two of which are integrated with the open dial. The small seconds timer can be found at the 9 o’clock position and a 30-minute counter is positioned at 3 o’clock. The third sub dial is an indicator of the Moon and sun phase, displaying a picture of the sun for daytime and a night’s sky for night time. A single chronograph hand with a red tip is positioned centrally. The hour and minute hands are coated with SuperLuminova, as are the index hour markers, ensuring the dial can be read in the brightest of lights to the darkest of conditions.
A real feature on this impressive timepiece is the large date indicator. Two wheels etched with black Arabic numerals, simultaneously turn to display the correct date. Finally, the Zentih Chronomaster El Primero Grande Date Full Open is adorned by the elegant black alligator leather strap, lined with a protective layer of rubber.
A transparent sapphire crystal case back, reveals the El Primero 4047B Automatic movement, with an impressive 50-hour power reserve.
