With a rich history dating back to 1865, Zenith have created many timepieces that have become iconic in Swiss watchmaking. One of the outstanding achievements was the invention of the first integrated automatic chronograph movement; the Zenith Chronomaster. Still the most precise series-made calibre to this day. The Chronomaster El Primero Open features a new open dial, revealing the legendary beating heart of the El Primero movement, Silicon escape-wheel and lever.
The Zenith Chronomaster El Primero Open has a 42mm polished stainless-steel case with a blue sun-ray dial. Present on the dial are three chronograph sub dials, two of which are coloured. The Small seconds are positioned at 9 o’clock (integrated with the open dial) 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock (Dark grey) and and the 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock (White). A single red chronograph hand is positioned centrally. The hour and minute hands are coated with SuperLuminova, as are the index hour markers, ensuring the dial can be read in the brightest of lights to the darkest of conditions.
A fixed Tachymetric scale surrounds the rim of the dial, this enables the measurement of speed. The genius Tachymetric scale converts the time and distance travelled into an average speed, vital for track timings on the racecourse. Finally, the Zentih Chronomaster El Primero Open is adorned by the elegant blue alligator leather strap, lined with a protective layer of rubber.
A transparent sapphire crystal case back, reveals the COSC-certified El Primero 4061 Automatic movement, vibrating at 36,000 per hour, with an impressive 50-hour power reserve.
